I Am Procrastinating

What I do when I'm not doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

Had One: Fender Bender

In addition to the "dent in my book pile" that I was hoping to get out of this vacation (see prior post), I also now have a dent in my car.

My mother, while backing out of her driveway, ran her crash-proof-superior SUV into my poor, lowly little Prius because she "forgot" I was in town.

I can't even be surprised, because the year before, in this same town, my brother ran his (thankfully weak piece of crap) car out of his driveway and into my car because he "forgot" about it, too. Even though he had been INSIDE my car when I parked it behind his car less than an hour earlier.

The moral of the story - I am utterly forgettable.

Oh yuck!

Hopefully not too much damage was done. I ran into my hubby's car once, backing up out of the garage. I didn't hit it very hard and it was just on the bumper, so...well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him right?

LMAO. You are the most UNforgettable person I can imagine. BTW, do you happen to remember that we had a speaker at the meeting last Sat? I kept wondering while we were there if you'd remember him, lol.

Oh dear! Hopefully by the time she's finished paying for the damage, she'll remember you're there?

Martha, sorry you got a dent, but I can put myself in your mother's place. I hit my brother-in-law's car. He'd parked it in the driveway, WAY off in the corner, but it was dark, and no one ever parks over there, so I backed right into it. Didn't even see it. No damage was done to his car, but I cracked my bumper - over a $1,000 damage. Jeez! for a bumper!

Oh, no! And for them to tell you they forgot? Wow. I hope you're able to get it fixed without too much hassle and expense. Please tell me each of your relatives offered to fix his/her mishap.

Oh...your poor little car. Hopefully it is just a little dent?

Bummer. Hopefully, the dent isn't in the front? When my Prius had front end damage that didn't look like much, the tab totaled $3000 to fix it. So much stuff crammed in under that little hood. But I love the car.

JA - I love my prius, too!!! Isn't it weird how much you can love a car? I named mine - Chloe. (But I consider the GPS a separate identity because that GPS hates me and has tried to kill me several times by sending me down one-way streets in the opposite direction.)

Mel and Rena - I should post a picture - the driver's side door is completely dented in - to the point where you can't open the door because it hits up against the...front part of the car (whatever that is). It will have to be replaced.

Angela and Meg - I feel like people are coming out of the woodwork with similar stories about having hit other cars in their driveway, lol. It's a pandemic!

Caryn - my mom did call her insurance and we're waiting to hear back on the coverage. Hopefully we won't have to get into any discussions re: digging out of pocket.

JD - uh, did I mention my mom has one of those cameras in her car so she has a TV showing what's behind her??? So the height argument doesn't work here. :)

Alison - some things are so @$#@$ you don't forget them.

Kate - sigh. I hope so.

Hahaha. My mom ran into our car once too. My husband was out of town and I tried to cover up the damage, which DID NOT work. He came back and was like, "who hit the car?"

Your car may be forgettable...but you can't be. I think both your mom and your brother need glasses. LOL
